Oleksandr Polishchuk

Military diplomat, arms industry and security expert.

Started military service in 1980 as a Higher Military Command School of Kyiv cadet. After graduation it in 1984 served in command and staff positions in bases and units of the Armed Forces.

In 1996, he graduated from the Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and served in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He was trained as a multinational staff officer at the Netherlands Defense College. He was the first among Ukrainian officers who finished an internship program at the Defense Policy and Planning Office of the International Secretariat of NATO as an expert on defense planning and development of operational capability. Studied at the Royal College of Defense Studies in the UK.

Master of Public Administration in the field of National Security.

Has experience of diplomatic service as a deputy military representative of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO from 2004 to 2007.

After completing his military service in 2010, he served as Deputy Director of the Department of Military Policy and Strategic Planning of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. From June 2012 to July 2013, he worked as a state expert at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and from April 2014 until October 2017 - as the head of the military security department and head of the security service.
