Presidential elections has shown an efficiency of democratic institutions in Ukraine – Mr.Yaremenko

Presidential elections in Ukraine are perceived in Europe as a proof of capability of Ukrainian society and state to debug mechanism of democratic institutions.

Mr. Bohdan Yaremenko, ex-Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul, has declared about the following in the air of BTV channel as “MFA” foundation informs.

“Presidential elections in Ukraine are perceived as one of elements proving the capability of Ukrainian society and state to debug mechanism of democratic institutions, come to certain self-regulation of internal processes happening in the country. This issue is encouraged and great attention is paid to it. Considering the fact that Ukraine rather good and in a very short time could hold elections – is a great virtue for our state, taking into account the situation in which preparation for elections had started, including the context of European integration and certain facilitation in solving problems which stand before us”, - Mr. Yaremenko underlined.

The expert has added that the recognition of democratic elections in Ukraine by European countries would facilitate the strengthening of authority of newly elected President on international level.

“Different EU states declare that elections in Ukraine has taken place and this is the name of the game. They recognize the victory of Mr. Petro Poroshenko in the first tour of the presidential elections which would promote his legitimation in the eyes of international community and would lend more weight to our country.” – Mr. Yaremenko said.
