Russia clearly benefits from Brussels attacks

On March 22 two explosions hit the capital of the European Union. The terrorist attacks in Brussels claimed lives of few dozen people.

Ukraine Today is joined by Oleh Belokolos, Maidan for Foreign Affairs NGO Department of Bilateral Relations Director, to discuss the situation in Europe after Brussel's attacks.

‘It's a clear message from ISIS that they would like to destroy European values, European civilization, Christian civilization, another hatred, another message of violence.'

‘It is very clear that [the recent terror attacks in Europe] are beneficial to Russia. And probably many Europeans are shocked by yesterday's comment of [Russian MP] Zhyrynovskiy, who said that this is clearly beneficial to Russia.'

‘Another prominent Russian politician […] said that these acts happened because there is no close cooperation between the intelligence service of the Russian federation and some of the European countries.'

‘These attacks divert the attention of the Europeans from the situation in Ukraine towards their domestic affairs. The support of the far right parties will increase and as we see the right wing parties are sympathizers of the Russian federation or personally Mr. Putin.'
